The Tamil Nadu Generation and Distribution Corporation (TANGEDCO) will soon launch an online electricity connection application. The new system will enable citizens to apply for a new connection by uploading relevant documents.

The Information Technology department has started working on the computerisation of this process and expects the software to be ready by July.

Customers can also submit application forms at e-Seva centres, where they can provide the required documents for a nominal fee. The online application system will be hosted on the TANGEDCO website and have a payment gateway for online electricity connections.
