Delhi’s PM UDAY YOJANA scheme now allows residents of illegal colonies to register their property.

It’s always been the dream of those living unauthorizedly (illegally) in Delhi to have the right to own their properties. Property owners who owned such properties were caught in a precarious situation because they could not finance their properties.

To overcome this issue and aid these people, the government organized (PM UDAY Yojana) Pradhan Mantri Unauthorized Colonies in Delhi Awas Adhikar Yojana.

This Yojana enables residents of unauthorized colonies to apply for their ownership rights through an online platform provided by the Indian government.

By paying a small fee, the applicant will obtain the registry documents if his application under Delhi Development Authority PM Uday Yojana is approved.

According to the PM Uday Yojana scheme, around 40-50 lakh Delhi residents reside in unauthorized colonies/territories. The government received about 5 lakh applications in 2021

An Overview Of The Pradhan Mantri Uday Yojana (PM Uday Yojana)

PM Uday Yojana Scheme, known as Pradhan Mantri Unauthorized Colonies In Delhi Awas Adhikar Yojana, is a scheme passed by the Rajya Sabha & Lok Sabha and was implemented by the Delhi Development Authority.

This scheme provides ownership rights to people who belong to unauthorized colonies. The GOI has created a portal to register homes and file applications to acquire ownership rights in unauthorized/illegal territories.

PM UDAY Scheme’s Significance

  • The significance of this Yojana is that the Government Of India is preparing a minutia blueprint for the unauthorized colonies’ development under the guidance of the Delhi Development Authority (DDA).
  • As part of the PM Uday Yojana, the DDA will complete this blueprint for developing unauthorized colonies within a set time limit determined by satellite imagery gathered in 2015.
  • Delhi Development Authority (DDA) has also embraced provisions for developing colonies like these all over the city in its Delhi 2041 Master Plan.

PM Uday Yojana’s Eligibility Criteria

  • The person who wants to avail of this scheme should be a Delhi resident.
  • The person should reside in these unauthorized colonies/territories.

Registration Process For PM Uday Yojana

If you are the one who is a citizen of Delhi and owns property in one of the unauthorized territories/colonies, then you are entitled to apply for this scheme.

To get started, follow these steps

1st Step:

  • You must register yourself online by visiting the PM UDAY Official website and clicking on the REGISTRATION option.

  • After clicking the option, you have to furnish essential details such as your name, mobile number and address.

  • Under the colony option, please select the colony you would like to apply for.
  • You will see a receipt of your acknowledgement displayed on your screen once you have registered.
  • Ensure that you scribble down the detailed information on the GIS empanelled under the PM Uday scheme, including their unique registration number and assessment ID.

2nd Step:

  • Get in touch with any of the three Geographic Information Systems agencies empanelled to fix your property’s geo coordinates.
  • Once the assigned agency has fixed your property’s geo coordinates and uploaded them to the PM UDAY Portal, you will get a Unique GIS ID via email or text message provided during registration.

3rd Step:

  • The applicant should mention all the details about himself, his property and the land where the construction of its property is done.

4th Step:

The applicant should provide scanned documents.

  • Receipt of the Payment (Payment document)
  • Property tax mutation document
  • Sales Deed
  • Possession document
  • General power of attorney (Latest)

  • Proof of construction documents before 2015, if any
  • Agreement To Sell

5th Step:

After providing all crucial details and documentation, submit your application and your signature file.

Make a printout of your application containing a unique case ID that will be useful in future communications.

Application Status Check – How To Do It?

Following are the steps that applicants can follow to check their PM UDAY application status:

  • The applicant must visit the Official website of PM UDAY Yojana, where they will see five options, among which they have to click on either Published application or Disposed application.
  • After clicking any one of these options, the applicant will be redirected to a page where they can look for their case ID and name to check whether their application has been approved or not.

To confer property rights to residents of unauthorized colonies, a nominal amount is charged as PM UDAY Yojana fees.
